As someone who sets the bar high when it comes to technology, particularly with gadgets that promise the sky, I approached this drone with a mix of excitement and skepticism. To my delightful surprise, this flying marvel not only met but exceeded my expectations. Right from the unboxing, it was clear that this wasn't just another drone. Its ease of use is something to talk about; navigating it through its first flight felt like second nature to me, despite my lack of prior experience with FPV drones. The performance was spot-on, mirroring the advertised specs. Whether I was cruising in normal mode or testing the limits in sport mode, the drone handled impeccably. Its build quality speaks volumes about its durability – it seems capable of enduring those inevitable beginner crashes without much trouble. There's a serenity to flying it, a kind of peaceful excitement as I explored the views above my neighborhood. At my age, over 60, user-friendliness in tech is not just appreciated, it's required, and this drone delivers. Its intuitive design and responsive controls made my foray into drone piloting not just easy, but thoroughly enjoyable. It’s a product I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to friends and family, confident in its ability to provide a similarly fantastic experience for them.
Flying this drone is incredibly fun. The motion controller adds an exciting dimension to the flying experience, making it an excellent starting point for fpv flying. I opted for the explorer combo, and the Integra goggles are fantastic, with lenses that fit my prescription. In sport mode, the drone is swift, yet it flies smoothly with the motion controller. I also purchased an fpv controller for future manual flying. Practicing with the DJI virtual flight simulator has been beneficial, especially since manual flying is quite challenging for me. This simulator is likely to save me considerable money in the long run.
Navigating the world of drones can be intimidating, especially for beginners aiming to capture cinematic footage without the complexity. This drone emerges as the perfect ally in this journey. Its user-friendly interface makes it accessible for new pilots, offering a gentle learning curve without sacrificing the thrill of flight. The drone's versatility shines in its various flying modes – from the stability of angle mode to the dynamic flair of acro mode, there's something for every style of pilot. Its compact design is a boon, allowing for indoor flights in larger spaces, which is rare for drones of this caliber. The durability is notable too, with ducts acting as protective bumpers, making it safer to fly near people, though caution is always advised. The drone’s agility in freestyle maneuvers is impressive, although, like with many drones of its class, some minor issues like yaw wash and prop wash are present but do not detract significantly from the overall experience.
Setting up this drone was as straightforward as it gets, seamlessly integrating with my existing gear. The process was hassle-free, with no immediate need for firmware updates – a testament to its ready-to-fly design. The integration with popular controllers and the clarity provided by online tutorials for setup were high points in the experience. However, not everything was smooth sailing. Accessing certain parts required more effort than anticipated, and a minor quality control issue was a setback. Discovering a loose screw upon arrival raised questions about the overall quality assurance processes in place. Though this led to a decision to return the drone, the vast array of positive feedback it has garnered leaves room for optimism. The hope is that future iterations will iron out these kinks, allowing the drone’s full potential to shine through.
Picking this up on a Christmas sale was a great decision. The joystick-like motion controller is incredibly beginner-friendly. I skipped the simulator training, which doesn't support the motion controller 2 anyway. It's sparked a new hobby for me. For those encountering a country code error, bypass it by refreshing the firmware through the PC software connected to the drone, as the phone app update doesn't solve this. This step also removes any automatic distance limitations.
Accessing the card requires removing the bottom plate, and I was unable to locate the bind button (I ended up returning it rather than continuing with the disassembly). Also, I noticed a screw on the bottom plate was completely unscrewed upon arrival. Quality control appears to be a concern, leading to its return. Nonetheless, other two FC options seem to not have this issue, as per online tutorials. It's disappointing because the drone has received rave reviews, and I had high hopes for adding it to my collection. Perhaps the next version will address these issues.
This is the second drone I've purchased, and it's been an incredible experience. Flying with a headset for the first time, I quickly grasped the basics. Within a few flights, I was executing maneuvers I wouldn't have dared try with my previous drone. The only drawback is the absence of SD cards, meaning you can't immediately start capturing impressive videos and photos. Had it included SD cards, this would unquestionably be a 5-star product.
This drone excels in creating cinematic footage, with the motion controller making it accessible to anyone, regardless of flying experience.
